In plain terms, it’s like this: your opponent wants a peek at your “dogs” (yep, we mean toes), and your mission is to keep those “dogs” hidden (again, toes). 👀🐶 Winning isn’t just about brute strength here; strategy and sneakiness are key. Those who triumph in this sock showdown are promised eternal glory and fame.

Info

Sock Wrestling takes place on Saturday 28.09 at 19:00 in Pirogov park in Tartu.

Registration

Information about registration can be found on our website studentdays.ee or on Facebook. Participation is free for everyone.

Restrictions

You must be at least 18+ to participate and must not be visibly intoxicated.

Rules

Two participants compete against each other at a time. Men and women compete separately.

The competition takes place on wrestling mats and both competitors start on their knees and need to stay on the ground. You must not rise higher than a kneeling position during wrestling. Both competitors must wear socks provided by the organizer. The sock has to be on the right foot, no clothing may be left under or on top of the sock. Long pants must be rolled up so that they do not obstruct the removal of socks, or shorts must be worn. The objective is to remove the opponent’s sock from their foot without losing your own sock in the process. The winner is the one who successfully pulls the other competitor’s sock off their foot first. Matches are organized according to a tournament table, and each match lasts until a winner is determined (up to 5 minutes maximum).

Prohibited actions include choking, painful holds, pinching, biting, spitting, and eye poking. If a competitor violates these rules, the referee has the right to remove them from the competition. The performance is judged by two referees, and their decision is final and not subject to appeal.

In the finals, both competitors have two socks on their feet, and the goal is to remove one sock. The tournament follows a tournament table

The organizers of Sock wrestling reserve the right to modify the rules and terms of the contest. All participants will be notified of the changes before the start of the competition.
