In the workshop, each participant will create their own hand and body cream and lip balm with their preferred scents and ingredients. In addition, advice, recipes, and tips are shared for making other body care products as well.

The aim of the workshop is to show that making healthy and nourishing skin care products does not require complicated equipment or questionable ingredients. The workshop is designed around the principle of using household tools and ingredients that are usually already available or can be easily obtained if needed.

The ingredients used include various unrefined oils and waxes, such as locally produced hemp oil and beeswax, as well as more exotic fats like shea butter and coconut oil. Most of the ingredients are organic, except for a few optional components (e.g., essential oils and glycerin). This means that the participants can choose to make certified organic cosmetics during the workshop if they do not add essential oils.

During the workshop, we will discuss the effects of cosmetic products on our skin, health, and the environment, as well as touching on the topic of waste. By making cosmetic products ourselves, it is possible to reduce waste since many ingredients can be purchased in bulk. There is no need to waste unnecessary packaging for storing cosmetics, as glass cream jars and containers can be washed and reused repeatedly.

The workshop also provides guidance on where to source the best natural cosmetic ingredients and what to look for when choosing them. All participants will receive a small recipe sheet to take home, making it easy to recreate the products.
