BRIEF EVENT DESCRIPTION AND RULES
| Event description:
Event Rules:
1. Arena and Equipment
- Dimensions: The recommended size of the playing field is 12 x 12 meters.
- Boundaries: The playing field is marked with clear boundary lines. Stepping outside the playing field is prohibited.
- Equipment: Players must wear appropriate athletic shoes. Any dangerous items (jewelry, watches, sharp objects) are prohibited on the field.
2. Teams and Competition Format
- Team Size: Each team consists of 4 players.
- Match Structure: One match consists of 12 rounds.
- Round Duration: Each round lasts exactly 20 seconds.
- Starting Positions:
- The Fugitive starts from the starting square in the center of the field (Fugitive Box).
- The Pursuer starts from one of the designated corners of the field (Pursuer Box).
3. Scoring System and Gameplay
The game is played under the “Last Man Standing” system.
- Start of the round: An audible signal sounds, and the 20-second timer starts.
- Tag:
- If the chaser touches the runner, the timer is paused. The chaser’s team scores 0 points, but the chaser becomes the runner for the next round.
- There are exactly 20 seconds to make the tag.
- Evasion:
- If the runner manages to avoid being tagged within 20 seconds (the timer reaches zero), their team scores 1 point.
- The same player remains the runner for the next round.
- Substitution: The losing team must send a new chaser onto the field for the next round. The substitution period between rounds is a maximum of 20–30 seconds.
- Match Winner: The team that accumulates the most points across all rounds wins the match.
4. Rules Regarding Contact
Since this is an evasion sport rather than a contact sport, strict contact rules apply:
- Permitted contact: Contact is considered valid only if it is made with the hand (palm) against an opponent’s body or clothing.
- Prohibited contact (Fouls):
- Kicking or scraping with the foot.
- Grasping or holding onto the opponent’s clothing, limbs, or body.
- Pushing or tackling the opponent.
- Penalty for a violation: If the pursuer makes dangerous contact or grabs the opponent, the round is automatically awarded to the runner (the runner’s team receives 1 point); in the case of a repeated violation, the referee may disqualify the player..
5. Field Boundaries and Safety Rules
- Stepping Out of the Field:
- If the runner steps or falls outside the field boundaries, they are considered tagged (Tag) and the round ends.
- If a chaser steps outside the field, the round ends and the runner’s team scores a point; in the case of a repeated violation, the referee may disqualify the player.
- Holding onto obstacles: Hanging onto obstacles (e.g., hanging from the edge of pipes or boxes so that the feet do not touch the ground or the obstacle for more than 2 seconds) is prohibited.
6. Referees and VAR
- Head Referee: Gives the start signals for the match, monitors overall safety, and calls rule violations.
- Linesmen: Referees positioned at the edges of the field monitor touches and out-of-bounds situations.
- Video Assistant Referee (VAR): In the event of disputed touches, the head referee has the right to review the footage. The decision made by the referee after reviewing the video is final and cannot be appealed.
