It’s time to take your creations out of the drawer because the festival’s warmest and coziest event is back for the 25th time!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time performer or a seasoned veteran on stage. Sahtlist Välja (Out of the Drawer) is a free-form evening where the audience is warm and supportive.
This year’s theme for Out of the Drawer is Awakening. It could be the sun peeking over the horizon, the freshness of new beginnings, or the inner awakening that brings new energy to life. Let your creativity awaken and bring what’s hidden inside you to the stage!
Want to perform?
📝 Registration starts on September 3 at 18.00.
📍 The event takes place in the main hall of the Song Celebration Museum. Enter through the main door and head to the second floor.
✉️ Participation is free!
🎤 You can also sign up for the OPEN STAGE on-site.
✍️ We welcome poems, songs, passages of prose, stand-up, thoughts, monologues, experimental content, and really anything that speaks to you (and has been sitting in a drawer for too long).
Come listen and share, because not all good things should stay in a drawer!
In 2023, the Sahtlist välja event featured a guestbook for the first time. This year, participants and spectators will be able to share their kind thoughts and wishes for future visitors for the sixth time.

In recent years, the event has been tied together by an overarching theme. The spring creative evening focused on the concept of time, and at the end, a time capsule was sealed with letters that attendees had written to their future selves. These letters will be sent back to them in three years.
