The legendary Sock Wrestling is back – and this autumn, we’re taking over Kassitoome Valley!
Sock wrestling is as simple as it gets – but that’s what makes it so thrilling and ridiculously fun. 🎯The goal? Snatch the sock off your opponent’s foot before they get to yours. To win, you’ll need clever moves, quick reflexes, and smart tactics!
If you’re ready to take on the challenge 🏆:
📝 Registration opens on September 5 at 18:00.
🔞 Participants must be at least 18 years old.
🏖️ Limited spots available: 16 spots for men | 8 spots for women.
🚫 No intoxication allowed!
👕 Bring sportswear and a good mood.
📣 Make sure to invite all your friends to cheer you on!
🥊 Event starts at 20:00, but participants should arrive 30 minutes earlier.

The usual venue has been Pirogov Park, but this year we’re moving to Kassitoome Valley.

Where to come?
Rules
Sock Wrestling takes place on 27.09.2025 at 20:00-23:00.
The event takes place in Kassitoome in Tartu.
Participants should arrive 30 minutes earlier.
Registration takes place via the registration form which can be found on our homepage www.studentdays.ee and under the Facebook event.
Registration starts on SEPTEMBER 5th at 18:00.
Participants must be over 18 years of age. Participants must be sober.
Event rules
- The organizer of the event does not take responsibility for injuries or damage to the health of the participants that occurred during the event. Every participant is responsible for their own safety and health.
- Every participant must be aware of the competition rules and sign a waiver.
- The competition is held one-on-one (separate divisions for men and women) on wrestling mats.
- Both competitors start on their knees and must remain kneeling or on the ground.
- Each competitor wears an organizer-provided sock on their right foot.
- The winner is the one who pulls the opponent’s sock off first.
- Each match lasts a maximum of 3 minutes, and matches follow a tournament bracket format.
- No clothing may be worn under or over the sock.
- Long pants must be rolled up, or competitors should wear shorts.
- Strangling, pain holds, scratching, biting, spitting, and eye pokes are forbidden.
- If prohibited actions occur, the referees may remove the competitor from the tournament.
- The decisions of the two referees are final and cannot be appealed.
- By registering for the competition, the participant confirms that they agree to all the rules of the competition.
By registering for the competition, the participant consents to being photographed or filmed by photographers and videographers present at the event.
The organizers of Sock Wrestling reserve the right to modify the rules and terms of the contest. All participants will be notified of the changes before the start of the competition.
